Former England midfielder Joey Barton has signed for newly-promoted Scottish top division side Rangers FC.
The 33 year-old turned down a return to the English top flight with Burnley to ink a contract with the Glasgow club.
Barton joins just as Rangers renew their league rivalry with Celtic on the back of the champions appointed Brendon Rodgers as manager.
After becoming a Rangers player, the ex-Marseille and Manchester City star said: "I came up here a week ago and was blown away by the history and tradition. That was massive for me.
"It was an opportunity I couldn't turn down. I feel it has come at the right juncture in my career.
"I had great options on the table and had a phenomenal time Burnley - but what they are about to do, I've done before.
"I knew within an hour of setting foot in the building that this is the right place at the right time for me," Barton added.
