Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho is in talks to succeed Louis Van Gaal at English Premier League Club Manchester United.
The former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter boss had previously denied any contact from the Old Trafford side as speculation grew that he could take the helm at the Red Devils.
After leaving Stamford Bridge following an unsuccessful start to the 2015/16 season, Mourinho had been spotted at various sporting events in the UK, but now seems ready to get back in at the deep end.
Mourinho is reported to have held initial talks with United chiefs to be in place before the end of the week and could be appointed as early as Wednesday.
A transfer budget in the region of £200m has been promised to Mourinho upon his arrival at the former champions.
